Stiffness Tester

The Stiffness Tester is an advanced instrument designed to evaluate the stiffness and resilient qualities of materials such as paper, plastics, cardboard, light metallic sheets, foil, and other flexible materials that exhibit comparatively strong bending resistance.

In this test, the specimen is bent by 15 degrees at a constant speed. Once the specimen reaches a 50 mm load length, the bending moment required to bend the specimen is measured in g-cm units, and the stiffness of the material is determined. The rotation occurs clockwise allowing for stiffness measurement.

The tester is equipped with a digital readout, providing fast and accurate test results for enhanced reliability and efficiency.

It is used for determining the folding endurance of all kinds of Paper, Paperboard, Foil & Films with a standard folding speed per minute. Kohler Molin Type Folding Endurance Tester Loading clamps of dead weight type giving standard load of 800 gm during the test provided along with Five Figure impulse Counter having hold and zero setting.

The Equipment is used for determining the Folding Endurance of all kinds of paper, cardboard, foil and films up to 0.15 mm. The folding effect on the specimen, loaded by weights, is exerted by the oscillating and rotating movement of the upper clamps.

Technical - Specification :

• Two specimens can be tested simultaneously. The number of folds is registered by two counters, which are stopped automatically, when the specimen breaks.
• Folding clamps quick grip type of stainless steel for a strip width of 15 mm.
• Absolutely vibration free runs of folding clamp, due to the absence, of a conventional geared drive.
• Loading clamps of with weight bars and weights steps of 50 g give loads between 1.96 and 9.32 N. Standard load according to SCAN and ISO is 7.85 N (corresponding to a weight of 800 g).
